Hi, I'm Jessica Harlow, and today I'm going to show you some tips on how to make your own makeup tutorial. We'll go over an easy look for daytime, plus some tips to consider when you're making your own video.
Before you get started, you want to make sure you get all of your gear ready. You'll need your makeup and brushes, and of course a pocket HD video camera. I like this one, because it has two screens, one in the front and one in the back. And having a little stand is helpful. When shooting and eye makeup tutorial, it's really helpful to have an additional screen on the front of your HD camera, so that you can actually see what you're doing.
If you love eye makeup as much as I do, you know how exciting the products are. Let's get started.
So I'm just going to start by applying a powder that's close to my skin tone all over my eyelids, just to give a nice smooth base. And the next thing I'm going to do is try to add a little bit more definition to my eyes. So I'm just shading right into my crease right here with a matte brown shadow. It will vary depending on your skin tone, but just anything that's non-shimmery and a little bit darker than your natural skin tone.
Then I'm going to take a shimmery shadow, like this one. I'm going to apply that right at the inner portions of the eyes to highlight them. So now I'm just going to add a little bit of a pop of color. I'm taking this blue shadow right here, and a little brush like this one. Just going to apply that right underneath my lash line. OK.
And then for a soft liner, I'm just going to take this darker brown shadow right here. I'm going to line that along my top lash line. And of course, make sure to blend. OK. Then you can go ahead and apply your mascara. And that's it.
That means it's time to do two things. First, share your video, and it's easy to do so with a camera like this. Second, get out and show off your great daytime look. I'm Jessica Harlow for Sony with Howdini. For more information and great tips, visit sony.com/howdini.
