Nicki Sizemore is a freelance writer, food stylist and cooking instructor with a passion for sustainable cuisine. Whether she’s developing recipes, teaching cooking classes, entertaining friends, or buried in cookbooks on the couch, good food is always on her mind.
Nicki has written for publications such as Saveur, Fine Cooking, Cheese Connoisseur and the Organic Wine Journal, and has contributed recipes toThe Green Market Baking Book (Sterling Publishing, 2010) and Over the Rainbeau: Living the Dream of Sustainable Farming (Rainbeau Ridge Publishing, 2009). She also publishes a blog called From Scratch Fast
. She has extensive experience in video production, both as the talent and as a food stylist. She’s the host of the test kitchen videos for Fine Cooking magazine, and has appeared on camera for Handmade TV and in the Now You’re Cookin! series pilot for National Public Television. As a food stylist, Nicki’s clients have included the Food Network, Betty Crocker, Kraft, Walmart, and the Comté Cheese Association.
Nicki has a Grand Diploma in Culinary Arts from the French Culinary Institute and has cooked with chefs such as Charlie Trotter, Stephan Pyles and Nora Pouillon. In 2006, she was awarded the esteemed Women Chefs & Restaurateurs Organic Scholarship due to her passion for sustainable cuisine. She has a BA in Anthropology from Colorado College, where she graduated summa cum laude. She lives in New York’s Hudson Valley with her husband, daughter and dog.
