Doreen Colondres is the creator of LaCocinaNoMuerde.com She is an accomplished expert on food, wine, and cooking. Passionate about teaching people to cook with fresh, healthy, seasonal ingredients and an expert in the entire range of Latin cooking–from Central America and the Caribbean to Spain and everywhere in between—she is determined to revolutionize the way Latinos approach food, cooking, In fact, La Cocina No Muerde means the kitchen doesn’t bite.
Born into a family of cooks, Colondres began cooking at the age of nine. She launched her television career as a fashion and entertainment reporter and has combined her love for food and her experience on television to create a multimedia platform to teach people to cook healthy and delicious Latin foods using wholesome ingredients—and to have fun doing it. ??
She holds degrees in marketing and business administration, and a culinary arts degree from The Art Institute; has studied at well-regarded cooking schools in California and New York including the Culinary Institute of America; and is certified by the United States Sommelier Association at the Le Cordon Bleu.
Colondres is the food editor for the national magazine Siempre Mujer; hosts the cooking segment of Fox television’s “Hola Martín.” A daily show on the Utilísima network in 16 countries including the USA, Mexico, Canada and Puerto Rico; frequently presents cooking segments on Univision’s “Despierta América”; and makes frequent appearances on Spanish radio.
She has been a consultant and/or spokesperson for General Mills, Target and other brands focusing on the Hispanic consumer.
