Instructor and Manager for Canine Companions for Independence

Adrena Wilhelm is an instructor and manager for Canine Companions for Independence, a nonprofit organization that delivers highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities, as well as professional caregivers that provide pet assisted therapy. As an instructor, Adrena teaches disabled people the skills needed to take care of a Canine Companions assistance dogs, utilizing her expert dog handling skills. In addition to her role as an instructor, Adrena manages the regional applicant program for Canine Companions, moving applicants through the process to ultimately become recipients of assistance dogs. Adrena graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science.
