How to make rocky road cookie pizza

LISA: Hi I’m Lisa Birnbach for howdini.com and this is Lauren Chattman for Pillsbury. Hi Lauren.

    LAUREN: Hi how are you?

LISA: Fine thank you. And meet my very close new friend: rocky road cookie pizza. Cookie and pizza representing two of my favorite food groups and possibly the most important food groups to some kids I could name. Let’s get started.

LAUREN: All right we’re going to make this with chocolate chip refrigerated cookie dough, peanuts, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and a little bit of caramel sauce. And I already have here one roll of the dough broken into pieces. We’re just going to dump that into our pizza pan.

    LISA: Our pizza pan!

    LAUREN: That’s right.

LISA: So really, this would be a great dessert for a pizza meal.

LAUREN: That’s right. Have a pizza party with a pizza for dessert. This is a greased pizza pan.

    LISA: Uh-huh.

LAUREN: All right so you finish pressing it out all the way to the edges. That bakes in a 350-degree oven for about 12 to 17 minutes until it’s golden brown. Now we’re ready for the toppings. Okay I’ve got half a cup of peanuts.

    LISA: And we sprinkle?

    LAUREN: That’s right.

LISA: Could you put other candy on this?

LAUREN: What I think is good is different kinds of chips: butterscotch chips, white chocolate chips would be really good if you want to vary the flavors. So that was half a cup of chocolate chips. This is a cup of mini marshmallows. Sprinkle those around and spread them out. Drizzle on our caramel sauce.

    LISA: That looks pretty sweet.

LAUREN: And it’s ready to go back into that 350-degree oven.

    LISA: For how long?

LAUREN: 8 to 10 minutes should do it.

LISA: And then you have something great looking just like this and Lauren, that’s your piece.

LAUREN: Oh thanks a lot Lisa.

LISA: Thank you Lauren. The rest is for me. For more clever recipes, tips, and techniques visit Pillsbury.com. I’m Lisa Birnbach for howdini.
