    About this video

Your family loves your brownies, but they seem a little too simple to take to a party, right? Here are two great ideas from Betty Crocker Kitchens to add some pizzazz. Baker and author Liv Hansen shows you how to make festive brownies using frosting and sprinkles, AND how to make a brownie “pizza” topped with summertime fruit.

How to make brownie pizza and decorate brownies

    Decorate Festive Brownies

You can decorate brownies with whatever topping you choose. Liv Hansen uses red, white and blue star sprinkles and a frosting drizzle for a Fourth of July party.

    • Bake brownies in a 13 x 9 baking pan.
    • Soften some vanilla frosting for 15 seconds in the microwave.
    • Take a fork and dip it into the softened frosting then drizzle it across the brownies.
    • Decorate the brownies by sprinkling decorative candy stars over the top of the brownies. The stars will stick to the frosting.

    Brownies and Berries Fruit Pizza

When decorating a brownie fruit pizza, you can give this delicious dessert a casual look by randomly sprinkling the fruit on top, or for a more elegant look, arrange the fruit in a pattern. Here, Liv Hansen makes a cream cheese frosting and tops the dessert with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and finshes it with an apple jelly glaze.

    • Bake brownies in a large pizza pan.
    • To make the frosting add some sugar and vanilla to the softened cream cheese and mix until well combined.
    • Use an offset spatula to thinly spread the frosting over the cooled brownie in the pizza pan. If you want brownie pizza crust, leave the edges of the brownie pizza bare.
    • Arrange the fruit of your choice over the frosting.
    • To add a little sweetness and shine soften some fruit jelly of your choice in the microwave for about 30 seconds and use a pastry brush to gently brush it over the fruit.

How to make brownie pizza and decorate brownies

Hi. I’m Liv Hansen for Betty Crocker Kitchens and howdini.com.
Throwing a summertime get-together is always fun. And whatever you’re having, dessert is the best part. Everybody loves chocolatey brownies, and I’m going to show you how to make them extra special. The first thing I’ll show you how to make is festive brownies.

Baking the brownies is the easiest part. Just follows directions on the box. I’ve baked this on in a thirteen by nine inch pan. To decorate it, I’ve softened some vanilla frosting, fifteen seconds in the microwave. Just take your fork, dip it in, and then drizzle it across the top. You can just go back and forth diagonally, you can criss-cross. Whatever you like. Then, to make it even more festive, we have these little red, white, and blue stars and just sprinkle it across the top and they’re going to stick to the icing you put on. I’m sprinkling these randomly. For the fourth of July, I chose red, white, and blue, but for other occasions, choose different colors to match your party. Now doesn’t that look great?

Now, how about a brownies and berries fruit pizza?
We’ve baked this brownie in a pizza pan. Now we’re going to mix the frosting. Mix together one eight out package of softened cream cheese with one third cup of sugar and a half a teaspoon of vanilla. And I’m going to mix this until its well combined.
Now that my frosting is mixed, I’m going to scoop it onto the brownie pizza. Now I’m going to use an off-set spatula and spread this icing thinly over the entire surface. I spread it almost to the edge to leave a tiny bit of brownie pizza crust. And there you go.

Now its time to put the fruit on. I’m using strawberries and raspberries and blueberries, but you can choose different fruits. I’m just going to scatter them over the center of the brownie pizza, randomly. Okay, and there you have it.
Now, to add a glisten and a little summer sweetness, I have some jelly. You could use apple jelly, we’re using apricot. And I’ve just softened it in the microwave a little bit, for about thirty seconds. And I have a pastry brush, and I’m just going to brush it gently over the fruit. As you can see, these are quick and easy, and they taste even better than they look.

I’m Liv Hansen for Betty Crocker Kitchens.
