How to make Jacques Torres’ hot chocolate

    1. Bring a cup of 2% milk to a boil.
    2. Add a half-cup of hot chocolate powder to the hot milk and stir well so the chocolate melts.
    3. Then, boil it again, so you boil once for the milk, then for the milk and the chocolate. That’s how you get it so thick.

It's easy to remember Jacques Torres' hot chocolate recipe - twice as much milk as chocolate powder, boil twice. Voila!

How to make Jacques Torres’ hot chocolate

I'm Jacques Torres from Jacques Torres Chocolates for howdini. And today I'm going to show you how to make the perfect cup of hot chocolate. I'm going to take one cup of milk and I usually use two percent fat milk. I'm going to put that into a container and I'm going to bring it to a boil. Now you can do that on a stove or you can do like me into the coffee machine steamer. That going to take about a minute to boil. On the meantime I'm going to take a half cup of hot chocolate powder, okay nicely full like that. Okay it's ready now so I put the powder over the milk. Okay now stir everything so the hot chocolate is melting. And the next thing to do is to boil it again. So it's important to boil it two times for the milk, then the milk and the chocolates. The reason is the thickness will be a lot nicer if you boil with the chocolates. The recipe is simple. It's double milk then chocolate powder. Then when it's ready you're going to take a cup and pour the hot chocolate. Look how thick it is and chocolatey it is. Voila.
