How to choose a prenatal caregiver
- Take into consideration your overall health and any special medical issues you may be facing.
- Research the care and delivery options available in your area.
- Remain flexible. Pregnancy is a fluid situation; you may make an appropriate choice at the beginning of your pregnancy but find that you have to adjust to new factors later on.
- The OB/GYN can take care of virtually all routine complications of pregnancy. You could also choose a family practice physician or a midwife, but if you have serious complications, you may need to see a specialist.
