    About this video

Having fun with veggies may seem impossible to some kids, but not after they’ve watched teenaged professional chef Justin Miller work his magic. With a few careful cuts, he shows you can have fun with veggies by making a radish rat.

How to carve a radish 'rat'

    1. Take a large radish, preferably with a long root (that looks like a tail).
    2. Cut off any greens at the radish’s top.
    3. Make a small oval shaped cut along the side, and put that piece aside. It will become the ears.
    4. Roll the radish onto the cut side, which will give it a flat surface and make it steadier.
    5. On the top, near the end where the stem used to be, take a sharp knife and slice out a small piece. This is where the ears will go, so make it big enough.
    6. Take the oval shaped piece cut from the bottom of the radish, and cut if in half.
    7. Place the two halves, rounded sides up, in the slit you created at the top of the radish.

  • What a cool video, this kid has a great personality. I remember him from Letterman when Justin was just a kid.
