Justin Miller
Teenage Chef
Having fun with veggies may seem impossible to some kids, but not after they’ve watched teenaged professional chef Justin Miller work his magic. With a few careful cuts, he shows you can have fun with veggies by making a radish rat.

Instructions
How to carve a radish 'rat'
- Take a large radish, preferably with a long root (that looks like a tail).
- Cut off any greens at the radish’s top.
- Make a small oval shaped cut along the side, and put that piece aside. It will become the ears.
- Roll the radish onto the cut side, which will give it a flat surface and make it steadier.
- On the top, near the end where the stem used to be, take a sharp knife and slice out a small piece. This is where the ears will go, so make it big enough.
- Take the oval shaped piece cut from the bottom of the radish, and cut if in half.
- Place the two halves, rounded sides up, in the slit you created at the top of the radish.
