How to stop snoring
Living with someone who snores can disrupt your sleep and ruin relationships (it’s the #1 medical cause for divorces and breakups!). There are some measures you can take to reduce, treat or stop snoring. But in order to help stop your snoring you must first determine what is causing it.
Causes
- A blockage at the tip of your nose or your throat can cause snoring.
- Being overweight can also contribute to snoring.
- If you are not overweight, things such as a previously broken nose or even enlarged tonsils or adenoids can cause you to not breathe properly.
- Alcohol or sleeping pills at night can magnify snoring as they relax the muscles in your throat.
Treatment- Losing weight can help prevent snoring but it’s also good for your overall health.
- Apply a Breathe Right strip over the tip of your nose to open your air passages. It helps your nostrils to flare.
- If you snore regularly you can see an ear, nose and throat doctor who specializes in nasal snoring and sleep apnea.
- As you get older snoring and sleep apnea can increase.
