How to connect Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Pandora to your TV
Do you subscribe to Netflix or Hulu Plus and watch movies or TV shows on your PC? There is so much entertainment online. But is the PC viewing experience what you want?
Hi, there. I'm Veronica Belmont. And today I'm going to show you a simple, inexpensive way to enjoy all your entertainment on virtually any TV in your home. People love to watch movies, TV shows and music through the internet. Some newer TVs have the ability to stream online content directly to their big screen. But what if you don't have a smart TV? Don't worry, there are devices available that can unleash the same great online content without having to purchase a new TV.
First, you need a box that connects to the internet called a streaming internet player, like this one. Use it to stream movies from Netflix, TV shows from Hulu Plus, music from Pandora, and videos from YouTube. You can set this up in a matter of minutes. In most cases, it's as simple as plugging the player into an outlet, connecting it to your TV, and linking to your home's network, either wirelessly or with an ethernet cable.
Wi-Fi gives you the ability to put your TV and player anywhere in the room without needing to run a wire. Most devices offer various output options. You can use the HGMI output at high definition streaming to any HD television with a port. You can also connect to virtually any other TV, using the HGMI or composite video outputs.
Once you're all connected, that's where the fun begins. Every streaming internet player is a little different. But let's use this one to show you how quick and easy it is.
First, you'll see the menu. With Netflix or Crackle, you have access to thousands of movies and TV episodes instantly. Now if you're dying to catch up on your favorite TV shows, you can use the Hulu Plus app. Now to get the menu screen to find it, and hit select.
Feel like showing a funny video to your friends, well, the YouTube app gives you access to thousands and thousands of videos. The Pandora music service works similarly. Once you're logged into your Pandora account, all your channels will appear. You'll hear your own personal playlist right in your living room. Ah, yeah. And you can also enter your favorite artists and rate songs just like you would from your computer.
Streaming internet players like this one also give you the ability to see your personal content such as photos, videos, or music directly from your networked PC. So now you can see how easy it is to stream your favorite online media to virtually any TV in your home.
