How to get rid of bedbugs

Got bedbugs? Act fast! Depending on the severity of the problem, what you do the first few days after you discover bedbugs could determine whether you have a successful extermination or a failed one. Before the exterminators can come to do their job, you must clean out every closet, drawer, cabinet and shelf.

    • Don’t sleep in other rooms because it will spread them there too.
    • Don’t start throwing out your furniture either, that will displace them through your house or building and will not solve the problem

Step 1: gather 1 month’s worth of clothing as if you are going on a trip, place everything into plastic zippered bags and live out of those bags as if it were your closet during the treatment.

Step 2: Use heat, rubbing alcohol and vacuums to clean everything in your home. Place each item into a sealed plastic bag immediately after cleaning it.

Step 3: Put clothing, bedding, slipcovers and pillows into the dryer on high for at least 30 minuets.

Step 4: Next, have the exterminator begin. Bedbug extermination takes about a month because several rounds of steaming and spraying pesticides are required. During the Extermination, vacuum furniture and headboards every day between treatments just to be safe.
