How to take great baby photos

You don’t have to be a professional photographer to take great pictures of your little one. Follow these simple tips and tricks of the trade from Nigel Barker to capture those special moments that happen in a blink of an eye:

    • Minimize clutter around the baby and try to keep the background of the photo clutter-free.  Remove busy and unnecessary objects from the area so there is nothing in the photo that can draw attention away from the star…your baby!
    • Work with existing light by making minor adjustments to your camera settings.  Use the auto feature or low light setting, to make the most of the lighting conditions of your setting.
    • Take close-ups using the optical zoom feature on your camera. You will be able to get great close-up shots, with lots of detail, without distracting the baby.
    • Get shots at your child’s level.  By getting down on your knees or by lying on the floor, you will be able to get great shots from your child’s perspective.
