Thanks for Not Making Me Host
Posted on November 23rd, 2010 in HOWDINI by Kathy OlsenWhen Thanksgiving rolls around each year, I am always thankful for the same thing: we celebrate Thanksgiving with my husband’s family, who all live in New England, so my wonderful sisters-in-law take turns hosting. That makes the food fest more centrally located to everybody but us, and believe you me, I’d rather do the driving than the cooking. But I …
Turkey, With a Twist
Posted on November 22nd, 2010 in HOWDINI by Kathy OlsenMaybe you’ve done your share of drinking bourbon while “cooking” in the kitchen, but did you ever think of offering some to the poor turkey who’s about to become your Thanksgiving dinner? Apparently, bourbon, water, sugar, salt & ice make more than just a mean cocktail; they’re the key ingredients for a brine that will make Tom extra tasty this …
Gobble, Gobble, Redux
Posted on November 18th, 2010 in HOWDINI by Kathy OlsenIf on Thanksgiving I am thankful for good family, good friends, etc., then the day after I am thankful for leftovers. (Not black Friday sales, to which you could not pay me to go.) I personally keep an eye on the stuffing consumption on Thursday, hoping that Friday’s lunch will feature said stuffing, even better for having aged a day. …
Eventually They’ll Get Hungry
Posted on November 9th, 2010 in HOWDINI by Kathy OlsenNovember 9, 2010 — Call of Duty: Black Ops is released.

About This Blogger
- Unless you see otherwise, blogs are written by me. To learn a lot about me (and who wouldn’t want to?) check out the About Us page at Howdini. But here’s enough to help you picture me, your happy blogger, as you read. I’m a willowy blonde, fabulous figure, late 30s, Ivy League educated but very down to earth. Oh wait, that’s my imaginary alter ego. In reality, I’m none of those things, except down to earth, or maybe, uh, earthy. I’m also a long time television producer and writer, a mom, and a wife. I have written two books; the new one is called Five Lessons I Didn’t Learn From Breast Cancer (and One Big One I Did) which you can buy HERE.
