Seeing Heidi Klum at the Oscars reminded me of two things.
1. I really, really miss Project Runway and hope they resolve the battle between Lifetime and Bravo soon. It’s my favorite almost-reality show.
2. She was wearing red, as a reminder that February is women’s Go Red for heart health month.
Heart disease is, by far, the number one killer of women. More women die of heart disease than breast cancer and all the other women’s cancers combined. And yet so few of us take care of our heart health (including me).
You can learn more about keeping your heart healthy on Howdini (of course). We did a very informative and important series on heart health with Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, a cardiologist who specializes in women’s cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Start with How to Monitor your Heart Health and take it from there. You’ll also find advice on eating healthier, getting proper exercise, and lots more.
We women know all about broken hearts, but not too much about diseased ones. Time to fix that, before it’s too late.
So thanks for the reminder, Heidi. And come back soon.
