I’ve been thinking that one of the Frequently Asked Questions in our FAQ section ought to be, “Geez, Shelley, you’ve put on some weight, haven’t you girlfriend?”
The answer to that FAQ (asked most frequently by me, to myself) is, Well, yeah. I have. And yet, my New Year’s resolution this year was just to have a New Year’s resolution. That’s how unmotivated I was.
Until, that is, I started checking out the new Howdini category called Happy New You, which is our featured category for January.
I’ll bet you can figure out what it’s all about. Yup, Happy New You is filled with advice on how to get a fresh start in 2008. From your money, to your love life, to your kids, to your health and fitness, there are lots of great Howdinis to get you going in the right direction, if you’re of a mind to do a life makeover.
Speaking for myself, it couldn’t come at a better time. During the last few months, as we worked seven days a week to get Howdini ready to launch, I ate way too much junk and exercised way too little. (And by ‘way too little’ I mean, not at all.)
And even though I’ve seen, read and lived too many diets and lifestyle makeovers to count, I found that Happy New You has a lot of new ideas, intriguing advice, and inspiration. Just spending a few minutes with the likes of my old friend Elizabeth Somer, a dietician and author whom I met when I was producing Good Morning America, has given me new ways to think about dieting.
